What's up? How was your yesterday? Was it cold enough for you? It was way too cold for me...and today is not much different. Well, yesterday was pretty busy. I am starting a new endeavor and it can be tedious but overall, I think that I will continue to learn some amazing things. I am excited about it, but at the same time a little nervous, but forever optimistic.
Which brings me to CHOICES. We all have them to make in our every day lives. Sometimes, there are situations that we encounter and feel like we have no choice in the matter. Oh, but that is always farthest from the truth. We just have to determine which one is the best one. It's not always easy to do that. I think that I have made a choice, recently, that I may have made too soon and without fully assessing the situation. Now I am having to wait for it to play out, and possibly take much longer to process through, than was the original plan.
I am learning that, when making "good choices", in the hype of every situation, we have to learn to do 5 things:
1) Stop and take a breath and look at the big picture
2) Take an accurate assessment of the situation
3) Remember not to make an emotional choice, but an informed one
4) If needs be, gather more information and delay the decision until there is a definitive answer
5) Make the choice
Always remember that every decision is YOUR choice, whether it is good or bad. Do your best to make as many good choices as possible. But, if and when, a bad choice is made, don't beat yourself up about it. Forgive yourself- (the most powerful thing you can do), get back up, dust yourself off, start over....fresh and anew.
Have a great day and don't forget to share the love...

"Living My Truth"

As I sit here read Redd's post, I find myself agreeing and realizing that I am the ONLY one who can really make choices for myself. I should not and (in 2014) will not allow anyone except Almighty God make choices for me. This morning in a conversation I said, "I am at their mercy, now" without realizing what kind of situation I was creating for myself. The Bilble says that there is life and death in the tongue. We must practice speaking 'LIFE' everyday of our lives. Now, when I realized what I had done, I immediately repented and asked God to help me while at the same time show me what to do about the situation.
ReplyDeleteI began today with a little anxiety. I can quite figure out why or what it came from. But as I sit here reflecting on it and writing, I figured out that money was the source of my frustration. As I sit here writing, I realized that after my prayer the frustration faded and I became calm and pleasant. I made it through the day without any major situations taking down. The Lord was even able to use me to encourage someone to take their passion and turn it into a business adventure. They kept telling me how I really encouraged them and they would be pursuing this business opportunity. It wasn't me. I give all praises to the Great I Am - GOD.
How can we speak life into other people's dreams, talents, and passions but not our own?

Love the list of steps to take when making decisions. I concur. Sometimes, it may be hard for us to carry out Step 5. Somethings are well worth waiting for and get better with time...just like fine wine and pearls. For that reason, one decision that requires special attention to Step 5 is getting married. No one needs to rush into. It needs to be something for which they plan to spend a lifetime, not just something to do in the meantime.
